According to research published by You Exec LLC, 20% of Americans have changed jobs since March 2020, and two-thirds of those say it was a direct consequence of the pandemic.
According to Google, the most popular job searches in the US over the past year include service-oriented careers or self-employed jobs, primarily businesses where workers can be "their own boss."
The search for certifications and training courses has also increased, with the aim of "certifying" the level of competence, to make it available for other and different professional experiences.
"How to quit your job" was also a popular search in Australia, the UK, the Philippines and South Africa. This implies that workers want greater freedom of control over their careers, a trend that has been fueled by the "gig economy" and which we can assume will continue to grow in the coming years.
