While large companies, even in Italy, are increasingly embracing Artificial Intelligence (AI), there is someone who seems to be left behind: they are Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
The reasons behind this situation are different, but in almost all cases they can be traced back to the lack of awareness of the advantages and benefits that AI can bring and the lack of resources, both in economic terms and skills, to implement it.
This represents a big risk for SMEs who, in the long run, could lose ground to competitors who use these tools to their advantage, in order to create better and more efficient products and services.
Additionally, SMEs may soon find themselves facing higher operational costs as AI helps reduce costs and optimize resources.
SMEs that fall behind on AI investments risk finding themselves at a disadvantage in the market. It is therefore important that the value of these technologies is recognized and that no effort is spared to adopt suitable measures: only in this way will they be able to remain competitive and survive in an increasingly technological and digital world.
The first step towards this result is certainly the awareness and training of people, for which it would be appropriate to design an adequate investment plan in training.
In reality, we are faced with a new Industrial Revolution: only, this time, it will not be a question of improving the production capacity of factories and equipment, but of working on the skills of people to best use the tools that new technologies make available: a true Cultural Revolution and it will be important to be ready for the appointment with the Future.
